Maryland Energetics Innovation Hub breaks ground at Indian Head

CECD joined federal, state, and industry partners on May 28, 2026 as ACMI and NSWC Indian Head Division broke ground on the $250 million Maryland Energetics Innovation Hub. CECD will play a role at the hub in growing the next generation of energetics professionals and engaging in cutting-edge research.

A first look at the new hub

Renderings show the multi-building campus rising just outside the gates of NSWC Indian Head Division. CECD partners Energetics Technology Center and Applied Research Associates will be inaugural tenants, with initial operations expected to begin in 2027.
